I would say a bit like being one's own CEO. It is happening in multiple disciplines and with the internet, consumers are out there to seek it out. Agreed - we need to completely revamp the way we look at economy politics and the structure of debt. Everyone had a bit too much fun and the crash was humbling for most. Also, the world has learned a much needed lesson, so I am hopeful that we will be move towards this paradise. We just have to make sure the cycle doesn't repeat itself down the road! I'm forced to consider self sustainability as the only option for our generation. We so called first worlders, the Gen-Y techno-class need to learn how to live off of staples, within our means, and consuming with consideration and calculation. Its not about buying organic or carbon neutral goods, its about learning how to live without the greed of previous generations. Having what we need to sustain our own lives, without debt, without consumer sprawl, may be the only hope for our species, and its up to our generation to revolutionize the ways we look at survival.
